I worked for 9 years in the freight - parcel industry and let me tell you guys that UPS drivers deserves all the respect. Most of the clients that have suffered the mistreated packages are just being victims of the company using cheap labor. They use temps and seasonal workers to load and off load their trucks... and they simply don't care.
IMO right now Fedex Ground/Home Delivery is giving an excellent service for a reasonable price (greater discounts when done online).
