Painting wheels
Black barrel or colour matched?
The wheels are going to be bronze. Z Track wheels
So,
1. Bronze face black barrel
2. Bronze face bronze barrel

If you have forged rims, get the powder coated. They will chip if you just paint them.
I got my OEM Ray's powder coated black about 6 months ago, no chips so far, knock on wood I won't get any.

^^^ I think you mean you "couldn't" care less...
They have the wheels chemically stripped, then they rinse, bead blast, rinse, bake to out-gas, then apply powder coat and bake... depending on the item, they will have lightly polished if needed.
there's no reason to stomp your feet over it... I'm just posted what a realistic, more typical price is.

Anyway....
That's how mine were done, except the chemical crap.
Maybe in Cali it's cheaper, here in SC thats what you'll pay.
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you over this, you paid $200-$240, I paid $275, + the $20 I paid to have the tires dismounted and remounted and balanced.
OP, good luck with yours post up some pics after you get them PC'd.

Ok thanks for the info on powdercoating, I work next to a Armor powdercoating and if I needed any tips I would ask Rob since he's be doing it for his entire life.
BUT I'm asking about paint guys, not a single post in this thread even mentioned my question. I've had many sets of wheels powdercoated and I want to try something new. So I am not getting them powdercoated as you can't do things like my question refers to (different colour barrel than face on a one piece wheel) If the paint falls off then I know paint is useless on forged wheels and they will be sent out to get PCd.
But thanks anyways.

Check the second post, I told you how I felt about paint.
Dude, do what you want I don't care what color you paint them, it's going to chip anyway so good luck.

My post sounded a like an *** hole response but it wasn't and yes you were the only one to mention paint. As I have said, I have had wheels powdercoated, but you don't have the options with powdercoating like painting the barrel black which is what I am doing. But I didn't ask for opinions on quality or lack there of, I asked for opinions on the style of paint.
If it fails and chips off I'll resort back to PC but I have seen plenty of forged wheels painted with no problems so I thought I'd give a shot for myself!

The cyclindrical part behind the face (part with spokes) you don't really see it, so that's why I wasn't sure what I should do. But I decided on black since it tends to grab brake dust like a champ.
But seriously dude bro...you should get them PC'd b/c like I heard paint on forged wheels will make the wheels totally disintegrate.
Juuuust kidding. Make sure to post pics!
