Thumbs up My baseline Dyno

I thought this would be a good first post to the forums here. Just had my car dyno'd at a little shop called Dynomite tuning out in Santee, CA (San Diego -ish). I posted 259.16 rwhp on my best run, not too shabby I think. Dyno run was on a Dynojet, Ambient temp was about 77F, 38-40% humidity and about 60k miles on my car. The car itself is a 2006 G35MT. Now that I have a baseline, I think the tinkering can start!

259 horsepower stock?!? You must have the most powerful stock g35 on the planet or something is wrong there. I think that dyno must be seriously off.

It's a coupe.

I hope the dyno isn't off, but I plan on going back to the same dyno after all my parts go in so at least the delta in horsepower will be consistent

That does seem a little too high for a stock coupe on a dynojet....but congrats anyways!

Well it is a rev up engine, but like lekker said, it's higher than his. I think the dyno is a little of maybe. But that's alright as long as he sticks to that dyno through his modding, which he said he is.

Why is there such a huge difference between the runs?? Mine is always within a few HP on consecutive runs. It also doesn't make sense that your HP would go up on each run...cause your HP to be lower each time due to heat soak.

Also, your A/F looks pretty whacked out... something about that Dyno doesn't seem right LOL

Why would you say my A/F is whacked out? 12.5 is a pretty good target at WOT. If you're thinking 14:1 that's a good A/F for emissions. As far as increasing gains with each subsequent run, I can't really explain it. Maybe the ECU was working something behind the scenes. As for heat soak there wasn't much, I was the only customer at the time and he gave my car a 10 min break between runs and just let the fan blow over the engine bay.

I don't mean that it's wrong, but it's moving all over the place from 3.5 - 6k. The a/f is typically much more linear on all the charts I've seen.

Ah, I'll have to take a look at a few more charts around the web. Maybe the scale is different on the smoother looking charts.
