i hear y'all on the exhaust thing and probably not much difference, not even one full hp gain from oem to pop charger ( done this shyt on motorcycle before and zilch hp gain) so i believe you but with an ssv it might be different, otherwise how y'all explain infiniti going the whole nine yard with double air intake on the g37???????

since we're on the subject - everybody says the g35 oem plenum was a nissan design flaw - maybe it ain't maybe that was the proper design for fuel efficiency to save a couple of mpg or somethin'

what about the g37 plenum??? is it still the same anyone know???

i think i got it figure out with the vq35 plenum thingy - you see...

since g35 are lux cars they wanted quiet ride so they put small plenum oem on for the lux people...
they decided to keep it cheap on production side and so screwed the 350z people instead and gave them the same plenum for production purposes...

so in the end the g35 people were pampered with a quiet ride and in the process they screwed over the sports fanatic folks over at the 350z plant...

it's like robbing peter to pay paul...

Which came first the 350Z or the G35 with the same plenum design? If Nissan was so conern about sound the G35 coupe and the FX would not sound like they would, would they. Different materials have different heat properties, different design have different air flow properties, its complex...

G37 has dual throttle bodies.

I haven't heard anything about the stock plenum being as design flaw. It was likely a compromise between performance, fuel economy and sound. Not everybody with a G is looking for it to be anything other than a good looking well equiped car with a little spunk.

The 350z is based on the G35 platfrom, not the other way around.

yeah i did some search for the g37 plenum design and it seems that there is no spacer for the g37 that is like ours - not sure what is out there for the g37 but it doesn't seem the design benefited much from a spacer anyway???

blox was $90 and md was $190 - plus i keep seeing the increase in mpg witht the blox - hence the whole point of this thread was to see if anyone kept track of their mpg with their spacers

ps - has anyone ran 225 45 19 / 245 45 19 on their oem rays 19" ??? - any problems???

s'up peeps,

so followup on my blox spacer install (anybody wann see the pics???) i have to say it ain't no different from the kinetix manifold velocity - same growl (loud after 2.5 rpm), the mileage is same - i guess i just need to keep it under 3rpm to get 20mpg or somethin,

anyway - i think the blox sapcer is very good - i even got the cover back on it by taking out the rubber and metal grommet washers and replacing them with thin regular washers and no rubbing whatsoever - i thin i will ebay the kinetix manifold and keep the blox - i've redlined several time and yeah - it's much better than stock in that when i pull from 80 to 100mph there is more power - other than that it's hard to say i the increase in power is there on regular driving - the throttle response is about the same as the kinetix manifold - better than stock??? yes a little???

anywho - i highly recommend the blox spacer now that i have done both the kinetix and blox - got the blox cheap for $85 fedex ship and everything - i can start a group buy for us from the ebay seller for $80 with fedex ship if anybod is interested -

also - i did test the blox with a light and the thing is not only heat resistant - it is scratch repellent as well - not your ordinary plastic that's for sure...

the thing came with 18 bolts - i ended up having two extra short bolts at the end ie i only used 16 bolts - idea anyone???

i torque the 10mm bolts incrementally from 4 to 6 to 12 Newton/Meters all around

let me know...

Do you have pics of your engine bay? Also, did you notice a difference with the blox?

You probably see more gain with the SSV and OEM intake than the SSV and an open heat soaking intake. Just won't sound as cool.
it's not the stillen hi-flow... yes, it has the z-tube, but the airbox is oem... the stillen airbox is one piece (not two like the one pictured)
