SPACER it's been said multiple times here haha. get a spacer, save up for a better quality exhaust, and/or get HFCs

What would the y-pipe do? Would it make the sound different?

the HR y pipe will make your exhaust a little louder and the car will feel smoother and more responsive

I have a z-tube with a pop charger already. Could you post a link for the HR y-pipe? And which spacer would you recommend? Motordyne?

The only thing that is beneficial from spacer over plenum is cost.

Using a Crawford/APS style plenum will result in very similar gains as a spacer... they do virtually the same thing (add volume for better air flow to front runners).

The entire reason MD spacer was designed was to be an economical and stealthy alternative to a deeper upper plenum.

Since MD came out, several other similar spacers have hit the market and many plenums are no longer.

So from a cost standpoint, a spacer is a better idea. If you can get a smokin' deal on a used plenum (if it's much less than a spacer), then it could be worthwhile.
