Who cares what they look like, they're great little track machines! They only run a few grand for a decent one, and if you wreck it at the track at some point, you just pick up another one. Part of racing is having access to a lot of parts and mods for your car, and the Miata is probably the best car in that regard. Trackable brake rotors for a G or an Elise- $400 for a decent pair, trackable rotors for a Miata - $40. I'm actually thinking of getting one for wheel-to-wheel racing. I don't care if it's pink with Hello Kitty stickers on it, as long as it's fast.

The miata's clean up at my local AutoX.

Porsches, Z06's, Cobras, BMW's.....and the fastest cars at the track event are usually the miatas. I've been for rides in some race prepped Miatas....about the only time i've ever gotten car sick in a car.

Haha, yes they are a quick little car and make a lot of sense for an affordable track car but there is no getting around the fact that they are ghey

They're no joke on the track, and girls like them. I've owned two Miatas, and I must say that they're the only cars that I've ever had where girls liked the car, and then grew to like me (as opposed to the other way around).

Great quote, gotta agree.

As far as weight savings on a G35, anyone ever think about chopping the roof after a full cage install?

Could always ruin the handling dynamics of the miata and install one of these

Guy at work used to own one. mildly modified Ford 5.0L V8. Car ran low 11's easily and still handled pretty damn good for being nose heavy. Fun little car. Used to go out for lunch in it and pick on Corvettes.

if you're gonna put a ford motor in there - you should check out the other british race car barely street legal called -

noble m400

another nice british machine except with a motor from ford as oppose to the elise with a motor from toyota,

very nice indeed - looks nice and much more normal than the elise
