RIP old G

Hey guys! I don't post much, but have been a member for a while. Just wanted to share. My wife and I were heading I-20 east halfway between Atlanta and Augusta on a rainy day the weekend before Thanksgiving in our 04 G-35 coupe.

Exhibit A

It had been raining a good bit all morning. At the bottom of a long hill we hit a puddle, causing us to hydroplane, resulting in.......

Exhibit B

We couldn't tell how bad it was until it was towed to the body shop.

Exhibi.....you get the idea.

Front suspension, rear suspension, radiator core support, wheels bent, body damage. It was totalled.
My wife and I both loved that car. It was her daily driver and the first car that was more than just basic transportation for her. She really loved it.

We looked at various makes and models as a replacement for the beloved G. My wife decided she didn't want another one because she felt she would be cheating on her baby. After looking at BMWs, Nissan Maximas and Altima SE-R, Acura TLs, Lexus IS250 and 350, we pulled into a dealership and saw.........

An 06, black on black with the Sport, Aero and Premium packages. We had to drive it! That was all it took. We now have a new G baby! Glad to remain in the G-35 family.

Sorry bout the crappy pics. I barely ever see the car in the daylight. I will take better ones.
I already have an exhaust system and a Crawford intake plenum for it that I bought from Ryan for the last G.

You were too quick for me, Joker!
Got another, obvious now, I guess.
Can't remember what tires we had. They were decent and in good shape, just too much water on the road.

Yeah, it's an 06. Lots of improvements. I like every change they made from 04.

Nice. Good to know you have not giving up on a G.

The reason I asked cuz they don't look like a good wet tires. Not much room for water.

Good luck............enjoy your new G.

Normally we don't have to worry about tires around here, but we have been having monsoon season off and on for the last couple of months!
