I once dented my ride in nearly the exact same spot. Having never gotten body work done before, I called around and discovered exactly what you're finding out now...body work is expensive!

It's hard to tell how bad the dent is from the pic. A PDR (paintless dent repair) specialist MIGHT be able to take the dent out. The problem is that circular body line near the edge of the fender. Most PDR guys can't rub the dent out and restore that line to a nice clean curve. Of course even if you get PDR done, the scratches will still be there.

Are the scratches deep through the clear and into the base coat or is it just paint transfer from whatever you hit? If they're not deep then you may be able to find a professional detailer who can wet sand and polish it out.

When I had my repair done, I got estimates anywhere from $500 - $1200.

Pic would definitely help, but if as mentioned above the scratch is deep it would need to be repainted, hopefully just that section, but it may look off if the painter can't do it well.

Dents....we hate 'em! =(

Nat, there's a company in Santa Clarita called DENT MASTERS they remove small dents and fix small areas that need paint. If you think this could cure your issue see if they also have a shop in your area....
