I like it! I'm a G owners who likes the stock look...even the 17-inch wheels. I don't think the OEM 17s look any better or worse than the OEM 18s or 19s...just my opinion.
I've owned my G for almost a year now and I've done absolutely nothing to it but clean and wax it obsessively.
At my job there is a heavily modded DG coupe I see in the parking lot all the time...it's absolutely beautiful! I park next to it sometimes and compare our cars. They look so different, they almost look like they're not even the same type car. I like both looks, but the stock look more suits me.
If I had seen your G out somewhere with those vents on it, I probably would have just wondered what they were...that's it. If you asked my opinion about them, I would say your G looks better without them.

Yeah those vents were VERY ugly and ricey but its your car so you should just do whatever pleases you. Now you have just a plain jane stock g35 though and if you are wanting to stick out I would recommend doing some tasteful mods and not buy any more vents at Pep Boys.
