I'm getting the feeling that your boss is going to write off everything he spends on your car as "business vehicle" expenses. And yeah, free labor aside, $1000 is low for oem-quality recolor.

While PPG may or may not do Ferrari (Ferraris get baked on powdered paint - Thanks History Channel!), dont' forget... the same company that makes the GTR also makes the Cube.

If you have to pay a few hundred more out of your pocket for the good PPG paint, do it.

I've seen a G in Laguna Seca Blue right after wetsanding, the same day the owner was picking it up from the bodyshop. This thing had Karuma front bumper, volk ce28 time attacks, etc.....looked very very good.

When I attended the SEMA show in Vegas this last year I saw a Vette painted House of Color dark chocolate brown, it was so beautiful it made my jaw drop. Looks almost black until the sun/lights hit it then you see the dark chocolate. No one has painted a G35 that color to my knowledge. If I were repainting that's exactly the color I go with....

I've always liked the Azure Blue they put on the newer Mach 1's.

I like this blue. Have no idea what color it is, but I like it.

Unless you are gonna pull the engine and every door panel and paint the bay and doors and inside jambs yellow to match, don't do it. I seriously doubt $1000 is gonna cover the cost of a full complete *correct* color change.

Nothing devalues a car more than opening the hood of a yellow car, and seeing a dark graphite engine bay.

Well I got it painted. $1000. Velocity yellow from the 2009 corvette, although I think velocity yellow was available on earlier vettes. Im actually pretty satisfied. I was gonna go toyota FJ cruiser yellow but after all your suggestions I decider a lighter shade was more like it. My boss picked up the tab in FULL. When I picked up the car it was cut and buffed too! I totally didnt expect it. So it was sanded down in 600, All dents and dings removed, It was sealed. 3 coats color, 2 coats clear. I think they went a little overboard with the clear as I gotta go back for them to nib down the clear as I got a couple runs on my side rocker panels but thank god the runs are just in the clear. Now we just gotta put it back together. How do I post pictures? Next step. RE-Assemble the car. Get some gloss black wheels on, then color match the calipers. "NISMO" decals or "BREMBO" decals?

Graphite or matte black wheels would really make it pop.

Good to see the pulled the glass for paint.

Looks yellow! haha nice

I love the 370Z wheels. But you'll need some spacers with them.

Got it painted yellow

The total underside of the trunk and hood were painted. All jamps painted too. Hood, Trunk, Mirrors, Side door strips, were all painted off car. So it's a toss up now for wheels. Wheels 370z's, 370z nismos, or G35 coupe 19's. Then it's either Gloss black, Satin Black or Flat black. AS for the brake caliper deals, do I go nismo or Brembo? they are brembos so going nismo may be a bit corny although it does look good. Got it somewhat assembled today. Waiting for the glass guy to come in tomorrow. For $1000 I think I got a whole lot of paint job for my boss's money. It's rare maacos carry this "platinum" paint service. I got the Platinum paint service, plus All parts painted off car, Jambs, complete underside of hood and Trunk. Door Handles removed. Cut and Buff, 2 coats clear. and didn't even charge me for all my little dings and dents. Too bad only mod I did was the 2007 sport bumper but I wanted to keep it clean and simple

well, they did a good job, I mean for 1k? Most shop wouldn't even take the bumpers off or the windows for 1k.

And I don't see that much overspray either. The stuff that wasn't suppose to be painted wasn't painted for the most part besides the rear beam.
