could not find a DIY thread. Anyone do this on their own? Want to paint parts of my DG. Any tips welcomed (masking of areas, paint type, etc).

 

There have been numerous threads showing painted engine covers, most however didn't look great. Unless you're willing to buy a 350Z CF engine cover and paint it either to match or for a theme I suggest you leave the OE engine cover alone. I've never seen one I'd put on my coupe....

Good to know. CF is not my thing. Would like to find a better looking one for under the hood but dont want to swap out my stock plenum now. Starting to dress up the engine bay....but only a bit.

 

HAHA....not mine either that's why I had it painted to match my Twilight Blue coupe....
