I agree what you said, but GT7 wheels +tires won't cost you $6,000.
Are you talking 19 or 20?

I agree with you to an extent.
I bought the G last february, will be paid off this year in a month or two.
Still modding it, but since I was in the same "though process" as you, I put the car to the side, then bought a bike as a new toy..

(un)fortunately, I started modding the bike as well

so now it looks like I have that as a new hobby, along with me working out my photography stuff and whatnot too
the process never ends. even if I sold my g and my bike, I'd find something else that involved a motor and wheels- and end up modding that as well..

This is too late for most of us, that time has passed. Some days I wished my coupe was OE so my wife could enjoy driving it. Then there are other days when you see someone with a vid camera taking pic or someone yells at you, "Bitchen Ride Dude." The mod bug is a bitch, not sure therapy would help....

This isn't a cure, intakes alone for the M3 are over $1K and cool aftermarket forged wheels (HRE) can put a dent in your pocketbook. I've never owned any car I couldn't find a way to upgrade. (another word for mod)

Quote: Dude.. its 800$/wheel + tires which is about 2000$.. then you have install which is about 200 so thats 5400$ i guess..
Check with a few vendors here. I have a feeling you can get a much better deal on the Volks.

And what kind of tires are you buying for $2k? Install shouldn't cost $200. I had mine mounted and balanced for less than half that price and that included swapping the TMPS.

I don't waste my money investing on a NA platform that goes no where with mods. Sure $10K for boost but the same can be said for any NA car, and at that point I'd buy a different car.

If you want something fast for cheap (bang for the buck) buy something that is factory FI, otherwise live with the fact that you're dumping money down the drain for the 12WHP gained with every bolt on.

I personally think Z/G's are horrible choices for going fast which is why I haven't put a penny toward mods, it's gonna stay stock and a cruiser. If you want pure fast buy an Evo, if you want refinement and fast buy a 335. Better yet take your car to the track and get it out of your system all together.

But if you want a affordable/sensible cruiser that looks good doing just that, G35 it is.

I've loved Gs ever since they came out.. That's the car I always wanted and I bought it as a project.. Yes I'm pissin a lot of money into it however its just like anything.. Some people like to smoke and drink, some people like dirt bikes and quads some people like boats.. I like cars and modding them.. I wouldn't buy a bimmer unless it was new.. And still I'd be modding it.. I love my g as it is and wouldn't sell it to anyone.. Everytime I'm out at work its the only thing that keeps me sain.. All those days that I spend working all winter long bring me closer to another exciting summer with my G (its my summer ride). thanks for all you guys inputs

x2. Goes for any car. No aftermarket company puts in the amount of time, both in man hours to develop and testing after it's made, as the maker of the vehicle. They have teams of engineers working to make these cars perform out of the box, while still being safe, efficient, and quiet.
