Canyon Run with S2000 and New S4 and concern

I did Canyon Run with S2000 and New S4 and it was a quite good experience.

When I was in S2000:
This car corners like a blade. Never seen a car with this much precise cornering. Even at fast cornering speed, the car seemed to be controlable.
The power was not bad at all, after 6000RPM, I felt just same power level as my G.

When I was in New S4
This car is very stable at corner. It was not sharp as S2000 but it had full of traction and car motion was very predictable.
The power level was great. It snaps heads and it seemed to have more power than 330HP as claimed.

When I was in My G35c AT
Hmmm...
Body is heavy, nose is heavier.
It seemed to have some traction by 275 and 295 Nitto Invo and aid from sway bars but Body rigidity and suspension could not match.
I felt very unstable at corners compare to those guys above.
Gear shift between 2-3 is instant but 1-2 is really slow and always hit the rev limiter even I shift at 5900RPM

Nitto Invo
This tire definately needs a warming up to get it work.
After little bit of warming, it is very predictable and good traction.
But after some point, it becomes hard to predict its traction.

Do you guys think I need suspension upgrade?

Don't expect your G to handle like the S2K.

If you want your G to handle better then a suspension upgrade would be a great way to start

The only Nissan I ever had that would out corner the S2K was my '92 300ZXTT. Corners were flat without any body lean and the Michelin's never talked back regardless of the speed or corner. I've up graded my G35 with everything available and still haven't achieved the Zees cornering ability....

Yeah you're going to be hard pressed to beat out the cornering of an s2k. They're great cars to drive around the twistys.

On another note. How do you like the invo's? How's the noise on them? I'm going to be picking up a set of tires soon and was considering these. I just want something quiet that will give me decent performance and some good life. I'm coming from KDW2's and they delivered extremely well in the performance department, but failed miserably in the noise department. LMK, thanks man.

Invo is really quiet. Noise level is just similar to regular all season tires.
and It is good in rains too.

But it really sucks on wet glass haha.

An s2000 is a 2 seater and is made to take corners and not have tons of creature comforts.

The G35 is a 4 seater luxury car designed to perform decently well while providing a high level of comfort.

You will not corner as well as an S2000 with a G35.

My 240sx has coilovers, sway bars, strut braces, delrin bushings, subframe braces, shock tower braces, and tons of weight reduction. It probably corners about even with an s2000. They corner very very well.

S2k is way lighter and smaller then a g35, cant expect it to handle as well.

I doubt the OP expected his G35 to corner like an S2000, but our cars are numb and twitchy when cornering anywhere near the limit. Other heavy cars seem to transmit their intent better; for instance, I've driven BMW 330i, 335i, Audi S4.

I own the G35 sedan, which is less nose heavy than the coupe, and it still feels nose heavy in turns. I've had it at the track, and the cornering limit is pretty high, but it feels "off" in a way that's hard to describe. In the other heavy cars that I've mentioned, you get feedback as to what's happening, you can feel the tires starting to slip, and you can adjust. In the G, it's numb. The car corners fantastically when the suspension loads up, but it takes longer to load up and doesn't give you that feedback that lets you get closer to the limit. I'm sure aftermarket suspensions will do better.

Great handling comes partly from suspension and tires and partly from lightness. Cars are getting heavier over time, so the handling suffers.
