just get a fumoto drain valve. Install it and forget it. Never have to worry about stripped threads or crush washers again.

My buddy runs a Nissan parts group, he does carry these and says they "Never" use them! He looke at me funny when I asked for them. As for the quick drain, I think I will get one for the G and the Q7. As for the skid plate, I will look a that and see if it can be mod a little to work with the nipple version of the quick drain....

Crush washers are truly a rip off, I wouldn't use 10 in my life time. I put 125K miles on my last Z and changed the crush washer ONCE only because I didn't know any better. How many times do you think I've changed the washer on my '04 G35, that's right NEVER! I've never had a drip from either car so changing the washer is a waste of time and effort. I'd rather spent that time polishing my intake....

It's just a way for the dealer to make some money IMO.

I agree. I've prob done a dozen oil changes on my G35 so far...i have yet to actually see a leak and change it.
Same for the differentials. ALL the DIY's said to replace the washers...i didn't, and no leaks.
I think they are good for more thana few oil changes. It's when they become damaged and distorted that they should be replaced...but no idea how you'd do that unless you are putting the plug on with an impact gun...which i've seen quick oil change places do (friends who worked there told stories)

wow my drain bolt doesnt even have a washer on it. I thought that was kind of odd the last time I changed my oil but I have seen it in the past many times while working at a small shop. It's never dripped since I bought the car last year so I never thought anything of it. I guess I'll pay the $1 and get one for next time just because lol

^ Should make oil changes a lot easier. I hate removing the 15+ bolts on the undercover. I tried to just remove 6-7 bolts but the plastic panel would get in the way and not allow me to get a good leverage to remove the drain plug.
I eventually did get to it but it was a pain. With the quick drain valve, it should make things a lot easier in the future.
Also, did you get the one with or w/o the nipple?
