They are always professional when handling wheels.

Even its a 2002 Saturn. They handle everything with care and lay the lugouts out nice and neat.

There are touchless tire mounting machines (Google..Ranger RX3040 “Touchless” RimGuard™ Tire Changer) if you can find someone in your area with one. I have also had tires installed on my Enkei RS05 SBC wheels where they mounted them from the back of the wheel by mounting the wheel on the tire machine face down and using the bead breaking bar on the back side of the wheel. I had absolutely no damage.

 

I think when I take mine in, I'm going to carry a machete and tell the tech if he scratches my wheels I'm taking his fingers.

Well if I plan on taking the guys fingers for damaging my wheel, Isn't a fair warning ahead of time really a courtesy?

 

I take the wheels in loose when I get tire changes. Nobody mounts my wheels except me.

As for who mounts the tire...I have people I trust, but I def wouldn't go somewhere whe they pay the tech bottom dollar. Cheapo tire places are like quick lube joints. I have had friends work there and told me some incredible stories of things they used to do.

 

Well I went to a few places, and they wouldn't do it because I didn't buy the tires from there. This leaves me in a crappy position as I need these changed out by Thursday. Should I take it to the local nissan dealership? I have no idea what that would cost. I also could just sell the sensors installed in my old rims and buy some new, but I have no idea of the cost for 4 new ones and what parts are needed to install.

If anyone can help, please do.

I'm located in Arkansas also, and being new the area I don't know of anyone to ask for help.

 

I wouldn't go to Sams club for anything, that's like Sears and Pep Boys. I go to one tire store where they know me and I only use one or two of their guys to change my tires and I tip them after they're done for taking good care of my G.

Discount Tire put a knick on the lip of one rim. I wrote that on the survey and they called the next day offering to fix it or give me credit towards my next purchase. Several dealerships have knicked or scratched the rims....especially around the lug nut holes. It is very hard to find installers who are extremely careful.

 

I've gone to discount tire plenty of times to get tires changed. When I bought my G and had to get the tires replaced the first time they did the first three fine (OEM 19's) and then when they got to the last tire the wheel slipped off the holding points (?) and slammed down onto the machine. The wheel was completely f*cked. Those Rays 19's are pretty damn strong wheels too and that machine just completely trashed the one. And I watched the whole thing...

Regardless, they paid for an entire new wheel and for my wait they gave me the one tire for free. They're good people, just keep an eye on your wheels as they're changing them because there are some younger folks there that aren't exactly experts and you see them attempting to change out low profile tires. This is always a scary thing.

Depends on who is working there just like every other place. My wife took her car to a Discount Tire to have a flat fixed and they snapped off a wheel stud. I found out 6 months later when I was changing the brakes. They didn't even bother to tell us.

I'll be having new tires mounted soon and am worried about them scratching my wheels. I'm taking it to a local family owned shop in hopes that they will pay more attention. I'll just ask them to be careful and hope for the best.

 

Anyone know how much 4 TPMS sensors would cost? I'm debating if I should even install them.

Well the local nissan dealership will do it for $150, I hope they don't f**k my rims up. I explained i've had problems in the past over the phone and he told me he hasn't heard of them damaging rims, but then again most people don't care about small damage.
