To shine tires or Not to shine tires
Do you shine up your tires or not. I have heard you are not supposed to because it can help deteriorate the tires faster, but in my experience my driving deteriorates tires faster than any product could. I like the matte no sling stuff, black car, the sling looks bad.

A lot of quality tire shine products now are made with conditioners and UV protectants that actually keep your tires in better shape than stock. My 2 favorites are Zaino and Optimum. Check with Detailed Image in the Detailing section for more options. I haven't found an over the counter product I like. I don't like the really shiny "shine", I prefer the matte finish.
I use this...

It doesnt sling at all if left to dry for 15 minutes. I usually apply it after I wash the car but before the final wipe down so it has time to dry. Basically looks like a clearcoated the sidewalls of the tires, I hate dull tires without gloss

Here's the process I use on SLICKS Michelins, I use Meguiar's Hot Shine Gel....let it sit for a while after applying then I wipe off anything/everything that might sling off leaving a very black but semi-gloss sidewall.

Me too. I use Black Magic tire foam. I like the wet tire look, but it takes forever to dry (2-3 hours).
I use that exact same product and application method lol. But I always clean my tires before applying the spray. Also, I don't like that completely wet look so much, so I always apply it a day before a meet or something so it's semi-glossy.
