Vavle covers leaking

So the other day as I was changing my spark plugs I found some oil on spark plug #6, I don't know how long it's been like that? But is this something I would have to change asap or could it still be safe to drive around town? Reason I'm asking is cuz I'm pretty tight on cash ryt now and cannot afford the part at this time.

Yeah it's a common problem. Parts are lie $22 if you do it yourself.

I call BS. Each valve cover is $170... Infinfi does not sell the gasket separately. You should also replace the valve cover gasket while you're at it. An additional $10.

It is also recommended that you replace the other valve cover while you're at it.

$22 fix? I'm guessing some type of rubber sealant? (RTV red silicone)..

Where can I find that part for $22? I hear that I will have to replace the vavle covers and ranges in the $200s.

^ The valve cover gasket isn't the problem.. Read the 1st post.

Oil is leaking out of the spark plug seals.. A Valve cover gasket isn't going to fix it. lol

The spark plug seals is built into the valve cover.. So you need to purchase a new valve cover. (Infiniti doesn't sell the spark plug gasket separately)..

when you see oil on your sparkplugs, it's not your gasket you need to change.
people here are telling you to get the valve cover and yes your bound to spend more than 22 bucks. why? because the o-rings are worn out. they become hard because it's rubber, plus the valve cover is plastic... lol i don't know why nissan made it this way. even the ka's and sr's are better quality and the o-rings are changeable. the vq's... the o-ring aren't replaceable. they come made with the valve cover, so you're **** out of luck, unless you save up and buy the valve cover. but when you replace it, you need to change your valve cover gasket and get rtv (the one made for valve cover) for extra sealant. hope this help. ^-^
