Does this happen to anyone else?

So my G35 Coupe is in the shop getting a ATI Procharger installed, so in the mean time I'm using my mothers BMW 325i. It seems like when ever I dont have my car all the cars want to play. Today im at a stop light a TB G35 Coupe, same exact color as mine pulls up next me. I turn on the launch control so I can get ahead of him, the light turns green and he smokes me. UGHHH I wish I had my car right now Does this happen to everyone or is it just me?

NO because street racing is stupid and dangerous, I just laugh as they take off and wave when they get pulled over down the road. You want to race take it to the track.

Who said anything about street racing? Maybe I should have put it in the OP, I was trying to get ahead because the double lane turned into a single lane. Everyone has done it, I wouldn't classify it as "Street Racing"

You turn the launch control on to insure that you can get into the right lane? But no intention of street racing? We need g35mass to offer his opinion on this matter.

Maybe we look at street racing differently. If i was going to street race Id have a flagger and what not. I did not go above the speed limit.

If you're trying to get ahead of a car that's trying to get ahead of you... its racing and stupid on the street

Agreed..... If I'm in a lane that's ending and I'm stopped at the light, with a line of cars in the other lane, I will step on it to get ahead and cut in (and no, I'm not smokin' the tires with VDC off or anything). However, if the guy in the other lane is gunnin' like we're racing, I normally just let off and pull in behind. Don't care to race.

Oh can all you guys in here stfu about the street racing BS? Seriously we've all messed around once or twice so no one in here should be a damn hypocrite. I know we all didn't buy our cars to baby them on the street all the time. I believe for a majority were all grown enough to know whats right from wrong and that everyone makes there own decisions. You decide to toy with someone its all good but just use judgement. Not everyone in this forum is god sent like you johnnyd6404. This isn't the movies where they do quarter mile pulls in mid traffic.

Oh I agree with what your saying especially the god sent thing but street racing is pretty frowned upon here and all the other forums I frequent and gives people the wrong impression of drivers of modded cars. The OP's probably a young buck and just needs a little schooling on driver etiquette by this fabulous god sent member There's a time and a place for pushing it and with a bunch of other cars around its not the best idea.

My previous car attracted a few of those types, but neither of my sedans have ever done that.

Using other people's cars? Last two friend's vehicles I was taking care of (2009 M3 Coupe, and 2003 325) didn't get revved on. I can't blame anybody for wanting to try the mighty M3, but then the 325 was only taken around the block weekly really. Far enough to get complimented on how good it looked (of which I get some credit, as I detailed it while he was away).

It happens to me too. I just let it go. You learn to do that when you become a mature adult.
