Exclamation Is it a good choice

Hey new member here; I wanted to know if a 2007 G35 sedan is a good choice for a first car for a recent graduate highschool kid going to college. Wanted to know if the mpg and the other stuff is atleast reasonable for someone who doesnt have that much money. Thanks in advance

haha your kidding right? Depends what your opinion of 'reasonable' is. I would say it is about as reasonable as 14-22mpg mixed driving consideringyour driving habits as well. 306 horses tend to burn a lot of fuel. gl if you do get it, and post pics.

As much as I love my G, I'd say for a high school graduate that is probably without a job that pays decent money a G would be less than wise. Just gas costs alone is enough for some people with above average paying jobs to reconsider purchasing a premium gas guzzler type car. You are only 18. If you will have lots of time to buy that G. You will have a ton more expenditures especially if you plan to move out. Save some of that dough.

Get something else. The insurance and maintenance will kill you. Dont get me wrong I love my car but I can afford service and 50-60 fill ups sometimes twice a week. I had a DD but sold it because I hated driving it (Chrysler 300) so now I put all my miles on my g which I dont mind because I love it and she loves me.

Bad choice for somebody looking to pay for college.

Get a $1000 beater, and drive that for a couple years, then pick up a 2010 G37 for the same price later.

Depends how much lead you have in your foot. In the coupe I can get 24 combined and still have fun!

An 07 G35 Sedan?... isn't that sort of pricey? Do you plan on paying the full amount right then and there? If money is an issue then I definitely wouldn't.

Mpg varies alot. Depends on how you drive your G. Plus you don't need that nice of a car when you're in college anyways. When you get out of college and you get a job THEN that's the time to get a nice new car.

I'm in college and trust me the car isn't so cheap, so if you don't have the funds to support it without too much trouble don't. College only gets more expensive with tuition, books, fees, eating, going out, etc. Gas and tires on this car add up quickly. Plus all in town driving with hills all over I only get around 15 mpg, luckily my commute is really short or else I would be dead broke.

Mainly gas. If my parents weren't helping me pay for some of my gas.. then i'd be SOL.. cause that adds up fast...
