Pressure sensor issue
Pressure sensor issue
Ok so I havent been on for a while, busy busy all summer. Anyways so I recently had my engine pressure sensor turn on. you know the ones that are in the tires and have to be above 35psi or else light turns on. So light turned on and i went to dealer to check it out, turns out 1 sensor went bad so they replaced it. Net day Im driving and sensor light turns on again, so dealer checks and another sensor goes out(is this common they go out??)....so now I just had some bearings and bushings changed in the car for other issues, so I drive around from home to school and sensor light starts blinking for a while and then stays on. After parking car and leaving in structure when i head back home(roughly 30 min drive) the light turns back off....Anyone know why light would be tripping out? never had this issue and dealer is trying to say its the rims but I had those same rims with sensors for like 2 years.....any help would be appreciated
I need to visit the dealer for this as well. My sensor will just turn on but without any sound when I am on a long drive. And it turns off after i shut the engine off and turn it back on, its weird. My tire pressure has been fairly consistent.
yea dealer ran the computer diagnostic and said everything is ok with the sensors so he cant explain why its acting up.....he told me about how the key fobs back in the day would act up near cell towers and tweak out so he says maybe theres some kind of signal making the sensors act up but thats his guess
That's all too strange, I've had my TPS in three different sets of wheels without issues. Tire pressure recommended is 35 PSI if it drops below 28 that's when the sensors light is designed to show up on your dash. Is it possible that you have a slow leak in one of your tires? It wouldn't be unusual for the dealership to replace parts while not checking the tire pressure....

Some shops (like ours) have a tool that will turn your sensor light off permanently when installing aftermarket rims without sensors. Or, you can order the tool on ebay and do it yourself.
I did this on our shop car so I can switch between stock rims and show rims without a light coming on.

man im getting pretty annoyed driving like 15 min and seeing that sensor flash....dealers need to get off their *** and just fix it all, whats a factory warranty for if they dont use it

i drive 73 miles back and forth every day to school on the parkway. about 35 miles each time the sensor goes on and stays on until i turn the engine off. i checeked my tire pressures there all fine.
yea thats my exact situation as well, i drive same mileage as you....dealer said he cant do anything until they can test car when sensor light is on but as i drive to them it turns off lol so if you can go to your dealer when yours is on and see whats up that would help alot of us
I'm guessing this issue is more common then I expected, considering I'm also in the same boat as you all. Its a real pain I agree, and when I went to the dealer they also just said it was a faulty TPMS. who knows :?
If you drive for a while and the low tire pressure light turns on with no warning bell, that generally means a fault in the system.
I get that when driving on my winter rims (that do not have tire pressure sensors). Maybe your sensors are not registered with the car somehow?
