NEED a G, What year should I get??

Hey all,

I am in the market for a new car. Im tired of driving my crappy Z24 w/ the broken A/C & plastic everywhere.

I wanna get a G35. I love the look, I love the sound & I just need one. I deserve a nicer car. I am not looking for brand new because of cost & instant depreciation etc.

I know very little about these cars.

What years should I look out for?
Do certain years have better parts, trans, engines etc..??

Im more than capable to handle repairs etc, but just want to make sure Im getting a good start.

I tried doing a search, but came up empty.

Any info is appreciated. THANKS!
_marc

NoToRiouzxG,

Thanks for the link... I Like the o3-05 style better w/ everything except the headlights..

To be honest, I dont even care what they look like. Every G35 coupe I see is just awesome looking.. I would definately make it my own.

Im thinking more along the lines of mechanical issues etc.. Under the surface !!

Thanks.

Search but if I were u I'd look into 05-07 bc of there upgrades to the interior and for the 06-07 it has upgraded projector headlights and upgraded taillights and the 06/07 g35 5at coupes have the option of the intelligent/smart key

if u prefer to driver manual, get an 05-06 they came with ther Rev-up engine which puts down more power, but if u want an auto i'd say may be like an 05 or 06 something around their, btw do u want a coupe or a sedan?

^^ Just remember that with the 6MT 05+ rev-up motors, that you may face oil consumption problems and oil leaking into the #6 spark plug.

So long as you still have the manufacturer's warranty, this shouldn't be a problem.

Small minor issues that I am having with my 05 is my rear axle making the clicking noise in reverse and my driver's side power door lock motor is starting to die. That's it so far.

i would say 05-06 since the earlier 03-04 have a few more teething problems, not many but a few more

Thanks for the replies.

Coupe definately, manual all the way !!!

Concensus seems to be 05-06 so far.. Not too concerned about fancy interiors.. Anything is going to be better than what I got...Im sure they are both nice.

Then I would go with a 03-04, unless you can validate that the 05-06 does NOT have oil problems.

Found a nice looking 2005, blue.

80k on the body, but 11k on the motor.. Guy says Infiniti installed a brand new engine because a technician didnt put enough oil in...

Asking 15.5k..

Damn.. Didnt think I would fall in love so soon...

APC went outta business years ago... Lucky for me I built up an awesome stash of thier products for future use !!

Why you gotta mention the fender vents?? Hmm? Is it because of my username!??!

BTW- Whats the biggest rims I can fit on the car?? Im looking for like 26"s. !!!
