Yeah, my dealer's frames actually don't look bad either. They are at least metal and just say COOPER across the bottom. I used it for a few months until I found the one I wanted. My dealer doesn't use stickers either which is nice. Those are always the first thing to come off my car when I buy one.

The thing that really drives me crazy is living in a state that doesn't require front plates and seeing people cruise around with tacky plastic dealer plates on the front. Either take it off or put on something that looks nice. I just don't understand people sometimes.

I saw that in the south and didn't understand it at all. Just put like something nice up there. Why tacky? Most people don't understand though.

In my dads hometown of Watertown SD and where all my relatives live, the dealerships put BIG banners in the back of their cars that make the damn things look like loaner cars, and people dont care! i would go bonkers if that **** was up there.

^SO bad!

What looks tacky? License plate frames? Some of them do, but not all.

When you put a clean looking chrome or black chrome frame on an IP, it looks much better then nothing at all.

car looks cleaner without those frames imo... we debadge our rears but then you put those frames with words on them... and regular chromes don't belong there either, no other chrome there (except for your exhaust pipes)... as far as regular black, not a fan either.. but who cares right? it's your car.. we do as we please.. just my .02 cents

I would get either, Chrome, black, satin finish or brushed aluminum. No words, no word play, fancy sayings, or company logos, just a blank frame.

IMO, the license plate looks naked w/o a frame. It's like hanging a photo on a wall w/o a picture frame. It looks off.

But I have no front plates. I refuse to drill a hole on my bumper. It's just sitting in my trunk.

That's why I bought an OEM Nissan slimline frame with no words/logos and a brushed stainless finish. Gives a nice subtle touch.

I get what you're saying, but there are nice ones out there.

i have a thin matte-black metal frame i bought at advanced auto with a tinted license plate cover but after getting pulled for the cover, i removed it and kept the frame and moved it over to my g... although i believe it is time for a new frame... i got love-tapped from the rear and after somewhat straightening... she's not the same

You wouldn't believe how hard it was for me to find a plain blank frame for my car. I went to 5 different stores and all I could find were cheesy looking frames with fake chain links or barb wire trim. So gaudy.

And +1 for the hate of dealer stickers/frames. Whether the dealership is awesome or not.. I still don't want that stuff on my car.

If some dealership wants me to run their license plate frame they're gonna have to pay me since I don't advertise any product for free. Even when I had sponsors I never put their sticker on my coupe, but I did embellish how good their product was here on DRIVER....sorry! Here's a company that puts out cool license plate frames in brushed billet aluminum www.billettframes.com. Had one made for my daughters car that looks great.

Not using a license plate frame is like taking your g/f out to dinner/theater, putting on a suit and not wearing shoes....unfinished.

$31 shipped.. Good deal?
Did you end up ordering one? I'm interested to see if they're still available. Might pick up an extra if they are.

Not yet, my car is at the dealership. When my car is ready for pick up, I am going to hit the parts store to see if they have it. If not, then I'll purchase it online.
