Question on aftermarket 2 or 3 pc. wheel owners

Do any of you with 2 or 3pc forged or cast wheel owners ( Volk, Work , iforged, DPE, D2, or whoever) ever have to reseal your rims when getting your tires replaced? What is the likelihood of them leaking air? I was told from a mod shop you should reseal them after a tire change and it costs 100 bucks per rim and takes 3 days to cure. Sounds like a lot of inconvenience. Just wondering about some of the hassles of dealing with expensive wheels like maintenance, cleaning, curb damage and repairs.

As far as I know I think only three piece wheels have seals. As far as expenses for damage it would have to depend on how bad the damage was. My wheels are two piece Volk GTM's...they have no seals

I've had 2 and 3 piece wheels on all my rides for 30 years and have never had them leak or need to be resealed! If a 3 piece wheel is damaged where they're seperated resealing would be needed of course. Repolished yes, never resealed. It sounds like this so called "Mod Shop" is just running their mouth with zero knowledge to back it up. Not good for anyone that needs work done there....

No need to reseal unless they are taken apart or leaking.
