Sedan to coupe

Hey guys I am the owner of a 2007 g35x, I am seriously considering trading in for a coupe (35 or 37)

1 how much do you think I can get back on my car?
2 how much do you think a used coup would be?
3 does the dealer mind mods? I have tinted tails, windows, debadged rear, painted lip spoiler, new grill.. will I get any more or less money for this?

you will probably get less back than if it was stock. and we have no idea how much you will get back for your car because we dont know where you live, what kinda condition the car is in, how many miles it has

I live in NY, Its in great condition, not a mark on the inside, one small dent on the roof and normal rock chips on the front bumper. It has 41152

Only way i'd sell is if it was for a 37. 35 would be a huge downgrade in just about everything.

Even then, i'd keep it over a 37 because IMO a modded 2nd gen sedan looks more aggressive then a 37 coupe.

That's a big downgrade. I would keep the sedan, have fun driving in snow in NYC with RWD even with winter tires on my car sometimes i wished i had AWD.

+ 100 to Wannabe and Hammerhead.

The ONLY reason to go to a V35 Coupe would be to cut your costs, but expect to pay higher insurance with the Coupe. Other than that, you're downgrading everything pretty much across the board.

Make the switch, coupes are awesome. Only few sedans with tons of money and work into them really can grab attention compared to a more lightly/moderately modded coupe.

Impossible to answer intelligently with the info you give..

1 - Miles? Location? Condition? Trade? Private Party Sale? Best thing to do is look at the Blue Book, then go to the dealer you're considering doing business with and see what they say - it's their answer that matters, not ours.

2 - 35 or 37? What year? Where? Which options? Used cars are selling below Blue Book (private party) and at book or more (dealer) depending on where you are and what the dealer is willing to do. Again, find the car you want and see what the deal looks like - it's the only way you're going to know. I would do a search on the different models you are considering in your specific and come up with averages based on year and options - I would think that would be a fair approximation of what you could expect to see when you hit the street to begin shopping.

3 - Most likely you'll get the same money (as stock) or less for mods - again, depending on the dealer and what they're used to seeing. Some dealers are more mod friendly than others. I've seen guys trade their car in TX and get decent money for their mods. Alternately, I've seen delaers in WA not want to take modded cars at all. Bottom line for mods is, no one usually wants to pay more for them second hand. I know I don't.
