Car wont start. IPDM? CAN system? Relays? Also need HID bulbs changed! Please help!!

Im looking for some help here...

The other day I started my car, drove 20 feet in limp mode and the navigation said there was a "malfunction". I pulled back into the driveway, and then the car would not restart.

There is a click in the engine bay, but the engine will not turn over. I have also checked the ignition relay in the passenger kick pannel it is ok. Battery has been tested, also OK.

OBD II codes: U1000; U1001. I cleared the codes and they have not reappeared when TRYING to start the car-but it still wont start.

When the key was in the ignition and turned I would hear a hum/buzz coming from the throttle body. It stopped suddenly yesterday when I was trouble shooting. Im not sure if it was a stuck relay, or motor or something that then burnt out.

I removed the battery and looked at the IPDM, gave it a few taps and it all SEEMS ok. There was some water under the battery in the holster...but not enough to overflow, and Im not sure if that would have effected the IPDM as every other system in the car works.

All of the lights, radio, etc work fine EXCEPT the place on the speedometer that tells me if i'm in DRIVE, NEUTRAL, REVERSE, PARK, ETC is BLANK. I can move the shifter around, and it does infact change gears....(it will roll if in N).

Also one HID bulb is out...Dealer said $150 or so to replace (thats with me supplying the bulbs...What do you think? Is it too hard to do on its own? Is this related to the other problems?

Personally I think changing the bulbs is a total Pain In the A$$....It seems easier to me to pull the front bumper off and pull the headlight out. Considering the cost of the bulb it seems more logical to do this even though its more work, than to fight changing it through the fender well and risking the damage.

As to you car not starting... your headlights work as a master fuse for the ECM Capacitor. With one burned out the circuit is not complete to the capacitor therefor there is no ohm's reaching the magneto. Better get her towed into the garage to get that bulb changed and your car started....

oh yeah, and if you change one bulb, you should change both. A fresh bulb will burn brighter and look funny going down the road. not to mention, the other is probably close to the end of its life as well.

Pulling the bumper will also make it easier if your changing both.

unless ur ballast or ignitor is bad..like Kuneff stated, its much easier having the headlight out instead of trying to get in there through the fender well...price quoted for your bulb seems high..check ebay or here on driver..i have like 6 of em lol but not sure how theyd do shipping wise...as far as your display on your dash..idk,id take it to the dealer to see whats going on with it
