Just a few minor mods

I had some time to kill last weekend and I performed a couple of small mods to my G.

First I installed the 07 lights. Since I already had the bumper off I painted the top portion of the bumper so that the plastic lip was not visible once behind the grill.

I always found it distracting to see the tow hook hole behind any aftermarket bumper so I painted it black.

I took off the crappy plastic grill that my Kuruma Z bumper came with and installed a more durable metal one. I find it disturbing how some people pay 75 bucks for the other metal grill, I only paid $16 for mine including paint.

Metal Mesh that I used after I cut out the portion I needed.

Mesh installed before I folded the edges down into the contours of the bumper. I used truck bed liner as paint.

Painted tow hook hole.

Ok wabbit, now take a pic of the finished mod like everyone....^....has requested. Great painting the grille mesh with that super strong/nondestructive paint. Nice ramps, you won't be using those with the new front bumper. You'll need to make shorter ramps that are less than 2" long and 4" tall like mine.

Do you actually need to tape the fenders if you are unbolting the bottom of the bumper? Shouldn't it just drop down/off without sliding up as you would if just install headlights or grill?

I've always taped mine, there's occasionally beer involved in working on cars and sometimes it's better to take the extra 2 minutes to tape

Where's the finished pics OP? Inquiring minds wanna see that mesh Is that just the metal screening you get at home depot? I've got a large roll in the garage to fix our porch since our Boxer is half ruh-tard. Wouldn't have probably thought to use that, interesting.

I made new 2 piece ramps that are taller and longer than those, they look like this:

More info on the build of the ramps can be found here:

I like the headlights a lot more than the 05, I had no idea there was so much difference in lighting, much nicer

Most poly bumpers bend and twist under their own stress a little so when you take them out or put them in they don't always line up and you can sometimes scratch your own car.

I thought I included a pic of the finished product in my first post but I guess not. I will paint the headlights another day when I have more time, the car was only apart for a few hours while I completed all these minor mods.

First pic I took the same day of installation, the last two closeup pics I took this morning. The spots you see on the bumper are dirt from rain.
