Need Some Opinions!!!!

Hey guys,
I just rebuilt my motor due to the oil con. problem... spun a rod and main barring (aka I drive very aggressive). I put in forged CP Pistons +.20 bore (96.00mm), the compression at 111 and Forged Eagle rods and other little things. I am going through a break in process with some break in oil the shop put in. I am close to being able to run normal oil again. I used to run Mobil 1 full synthetic then switched to Motul full synthetic both 5w-30.

My question's to you guy's are:

What type of oil would you recommend running?

I have been thinking about running Mobil 1 0w-40.... I have heard a lot of good things about that oil just hesitant to try it. Is there anyone out there that has?

Also I live in Arizona and for those who don't know the winter temp is about 60-70 degrees and in the summer we usually are over 100 degrees everyday.

Thanks guy's for you opinions

The high end synthetics recommend you don't use their oil until you have 4K miles on the engine. Having used Mobil 1 and then Red Line for a few years I thought I was satisfied until I read a oil contaminants chart, now I only use AMSOIL 10W/30 and K&N filters....my recommendation!

Kuneff: My buddy uses Royal Purple in his GTO. He likes it but doesn't seem to last him that long. I have heard that Royal Purple is a good oil to use if your out on the track and after your run you dump it for a new cycle of oil.

gary c: I thank you for your input. I never heard about having to wait for 4k miles on the motor the shop that built mine told me I was able to run whatever at 1500 miles meaning the motor was broken in and I'm able to drive it at higher rpm's. Idk if thats true but that what they told me. The guy who built it has been doing vq motors for 30 years....
