Arrow Opinion: Very Low Mileage G35 Coupe 2004

I got a G35 Coupe 2004 Sport Premium Package with only 21k miles on it. What will be a decent price to sell it? Its Salvage title and the KBB Value is Fair $17,250 and Excellent $19,500. Since this is a 6 year old car would people not be interested in buying it for a high price even though it has very low mileage?

Thanks!

Unfortunately salvage titles significantly reduce the value of the vehicle.

I heard the rule of thumb for salvage title vehicles was 50% of market value. So $10-12k range? It would depend on the damage/repairs though.

It was light hit on the front, little frame work. But its all fixed up and I had it professionly done so you can't tell a difference whatsoever.

Your car isn't even worth 10k. Frame is frame... It will never perform the way it was design for in the event of a major accident. KBB is 9-12 months behind current market trends.....

I agree, a salvaged title is a salvaged title. The KBB price in fair, excellent, whatever condition, assumes a clean title. Therefor it isn't nearly worth the fair value. The low miles can be seen as a plus but also a negative. 21K is extremely low for a 04. That is only around 3K miles a year, where the average is around 12-15k. For example, I'm just guessing the 30K mile service hasn't been done. A lot of the hoses, belts, fluids, etc. may be original which makes them 6+ years old.

The problem with the salvage title is that it raises many questions. Who fixed it, did they fix it properly (proof??), is the car safe, etc.

Not trying to be mean, just thought I would let you know from my experience. Good luck selling it. I think you can probably get more than some members on here think if the car is in great condition and looks to be fixed properly. I've seen cars in my area, particularly an s2000 with a salvaged title that sold for only a couple thousand less than it should have with a regular title.

Not cool. Hes not russian either!

Just to let you know the price of salvage is usually between 7-8k with you miles you may pull 9k but its iffy. Did you get depreciated value on insurance when they salvaged it out?

When a car is crashed and fixed its worth less then the original value now. Insurance will pay you the difference up front since they know the car isnt valued as much. Its called the depreciation value. You usually have to claim it the insurance wont come out and tell you about it.

Well I got it and fixed it all up for $11,000 so you don't think I will be able to sell it for $13,000?

It was a bad buy so I'm just going to sell it as soon as possible. The cheapest g35 coupe in my state with less than 40,000 miles is $16,000. If I put it up for $15,000 and accept a 13,500 lowballer I think I will be able to sell it.

then why did you buy a supercharger for it - that is another horribly "bad buy" if you intend to sell.
