One more thing... check your tire pressure all around. Seems obvious but it can really make a huge difference if one or two are a couple of pounds low. Car places seem to think 30psi is appropirate. I seriously disagree, 35psi is where it's at... at least that's my experience.

Even though the car is a RWD, if the front tires slip, wouldn't that cause the VDC to still react?

^^^ VDC only with the rears. Front slippage has no effect unless it somehow translates to the rear wheels which is hard to imagine.

What are your tire sizes?

I think Dave is onto your problem. You get new rear tires and now it starts to slip. The tire sizes might be off causing the VDC to think it is slipping.

What do you mean by "think" they're slipping..

I've been pushing my car a bit around those same on/off ramps and it hasn't been doing it as of late, but I'd say everytime I push it, it's about 6 for 15 tries for slipping.. Just enough to ruin my peace of mind for normal daily driving.

Your rear tires are nearly one inch taller than the fronts plus your front tires are worn a bit increasing the difference more so. The front tires are spinning faster than the rears and this difference could be enough to trigger the vdc system because it reads the rpm difference between the front and rear axles as a loss of traction or slide.

Is this something I should be concerned with safety wise, like taking it easy. And so what, new tires are going to solve the problem?

Also, should I get 275 in the front?

275 in the front? Not if you want to steer. I'm no expert on it but that sounds hella extreme for the front.

I'd say jut be away of how your car handles and try to adapt if you can't determine anything specific. I've had lots of strange tire slipping issues and I'm running on recommended sizes for the stock 19" wheels. It still happens often... with the rear. I've always wondered if that was normal with G's. I'm thinking maybe it is.

> meant to say just be aware... not away!

also if this is only happening for the most part on that one ramp it could just be that spot had some oil or something dropped on it. If this is happening all over town then it's your car. Try riding around without the VDC and see if that helps... seems to me like the VDC is a tad too sensitive... I get it coming on all the time.

I always slip in my 04 A/T coupe. The vdc has to be turned off. If it isn't you will most likely slip doing 40+

Are you feeling the car slip...as in power oversteer? In other words, is the rear end kicking out? Or are you just seeing the light come on?

The light comes on and the car starts to stutter. This is where I just begin to back off then it stops.

Okay this slippin is just getting out of hand and becoming more and more frequent. Isn't it dangerous if the car really is slippin (which I doubt it because as mentioned earlier I am not even going that fast) and I turn the VDC off?

Last thing I want is to turn that VDC off and have my car genuinly slip right into the divider, curb, or ditch. This problem really disturbs the peace of mind as I can't even go 80mph on the freeway in a straight line and be approaching a slight curve in the road head without worrying.

Very strange. And you alignment is fine otherwise? I dunno, but it seems like the VDC might just be confused by the size diff of the front vs rear tires and making it take action when it really shouldn't. That or some suspension linkage somewhere is loose, or bushings worn out, that just add to the issue.

I'd go to a big parking lot when no one is around and play with it and see if you can figure out some consistent action and consequence with acceleration and steering angle. I slip a lot too at pretty much any speed below 50 when I get on it, especially if there is any turn in the front wheels. Haven't been able to find any problem per se, but it is kind of spooky because it doesn't do it 100% of the time. Pretty random.
