So low that my exhaust is wearing off??

My daily driver is a 2009 G37s 6MT coupe. I am lowered on Eibach springs and I am currently riding on my winter tires - Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 Size 225/50R18. After the Eibachs were installed, I had an alignment done at the Infiniti dealer. I am currently up to about 29,500 miles on the car.

I had an oil change and rotation done today at Firestone. They pointed out that, since I am lowered, I've been scraping my exhaust and it is wearing away at the bottom point. Is this going to be an issue in the near future? Is there anything I should be worried about?

Thanks for your help!

Shelley

Obviously it'll scrape to a point where it'll wear a hole in your exhaust, which will most likely make it sound like crap.

Ok, so I am not well versed when it comes to this, but the spot where it is wearing has some sort of wire threading and is towards the center of the car. Should I be more descriptive?

^ Most likely the flex joints on the y-pipe.

Thanks Silencer.....so is this a big issue? I try to avoid to drive any place where I'd scrape, but sometimes it's not possible. I'd actually love to get a new exhaust, except for the $$ involved that is.

I don't even have flex pipes any more.

No, the guys that work there are just noobs. That braided metal on the flex pipes are nothing to be worried about, you can rip them open and they still don't leak for a while.

A new Y pipe is worth maybe $50-$150 for an aftermarket one and is an easy install.
