Wish I could say that :/.. AWD is worth the trade over a coupe anyday!

 

Had an 08 WRX great for launching but you burn through clutches like its going out of style. depending on where you live kind of determines on how much you appreciate an all-wheel drive car. Unless you are planning on running a rally event. personally its not my thing if I get a wild hair in my **** and feel like sliding around a corner then i'm going to do it. I don't think I have mad skills like ken block.

 

values have been going up on kbb recently.

 

I think buying used really is the way to go. I prefer paying more to my house/retirement than my car. I picked up my '04 coupe with 55k miles for $13k out the door from a small lot. I think I did good.

$13k for a "low miles" G in great condition. I'm for it.

Edit: I did do a LOT of searching, and haggling. There are TONS of used G's for sale in my area so that greatly helped.

 

I picked up my '06 in 03/2009 for $22k @ 15k miles (KBB'd it and it was somewhere around there)

It's now 28k miles and I just checked KBB the other day and it's worth $23.8k.

*shrug*. I plan on modding and driving my G until it blows... And then start all over again so I don't really care about the resale value.

 

I paid $15K over 2 years ago for my girl, KBB private party sale price is $14,800 and I've put over 40K miles on her in that time. I'll take $200 in depreciation over 2 years any day.

 

I was at an Infiniti dealer around my area, they offer me $8000 for my car. The car is clean/no accidents with 63K miles. I had it new since '03. I think I can get around $12000 if I do a private sale. These dealerships they low ball big time.

Lowball, but not ridiculous. Base trade-in would be about $8K, you should get some boot for the low miles. A dealer would probably get around $12K for the car, you'd probably get less on a private sale.

It's unlikely that an Infiniti dealer would put this car on its own lot, not around here (Va) anyway. They'd likely be wholesaling it or sending it to a consolidation used car lot operated by the dealer group.

 

My G37 coupe value has been dropping about 4-5k per year.

 

It seems like the first couple years car prices drop drastically. After that timeline, prices then steady out. For instance, base on what the previous poster said, my 8 year old car would be worth nothing if it continues to drop $4K-$5K a year.

 

True, if you buy a car that has already depreciated 75% of its orginal value, the continued depreciation will not be very drastic. But if you buy a new car, the depreciation will be much higher.
