I recently got a mike's mount, it was about 23$ shipped - a no brainer for the money, I mean the others are all metal, but they are 70-90$, which is ridiculous. I got the 8" invisicord too, perfect fit. I don't know why the guy doesn't just open a store( well I do, he said it's a hobby), I guess it makes it more obscure that way. The plastic is that really though stuff that make bathroom stall walls and doors out of. It's easier to work with, because you can use regular wood tools like router bits and circular saws on it (like corian countertops)

I just received my Mike's mount.. while the plastic is pretty scratched up and looks very used, its not noticeable at all when in use behind the mirror. This mount works as described and holds the detector in a perfect spot. Would do it again comparing it to the $90 price's for other options.

It is still $20ish.. But the competition out there is $75-90.. I was just saying I can lived with the scratched up plastic for the savings in cost considering its not seen.

I have a Blend mount and I am very happy with it. The Blend mount is metal and all black. It also has many points of adjustment.

which radar are you using? if you have a passport you will have vibration and rattling issues. easily fixable though, as blue dream and i have both found our own solution. you just need something to make the piece that goes into the radar thicker. you can see in my thread in my signature what i did

on the other hand, the blendmount is spring loaded and doesnt have that issue

I got mikes mount last week and it works great. It does rattle though.. I am goin to try and wedge a piece of plastic inside the mount or something else.. 8" invisicord worked perect. When installing the invisicord the detector won't turn on an off when the key is turned to the ACC position.. It has to be turned to the ON position.. Just sayin..

I have a 9500ix Passport

I have the Blendmount and 8" Invicord. I have always perfered the Blendmount over the Mikes Mount. It just looks cleaner.

I think once it's up there u honestly can't tell at all. Especially with ur eyes on the road. But. I believe the springloaded blendmount would obviously be a better mount. It would fix the vibrating problem.. I'll probably end up getting the blendmount... But for the price of the mike mount, u can't beat it. It still cleans up any other way to mount your detector...

If you ghetto rig it, you can get rid of the vibration.

But it simply comes down to how cheap you are. 50 dollars really isnt much. The blendmount is superior and more expensive. If you can afford it buy it, if you can get the mikes mount.

Just like the JDM finisher and the Metra finisher.

depends on your radar. the flaw is that the metal that slides into the passports is too thin to firmly hold the radar without it resting its but on the glass. so that makes the radar hang with play and you have to wedge something into where that metal piece enters the radar to stop it from bouncing. i dont think it is an issue with the other radars

Here was my solution for the vibrating/noise with my X50. I had some felt left over from doing a rattle exorcism on my car a couple of years ago so I cut out a small square piece and stuck it on top of the detector where the mount slides in. That stopped the movement completely and I also added a tiny strip under the mirror where the detector touches the bottom to eliminate/prevent any noise from the detector rubbing. Cost me a few pennies at the most and has worked flawlessly for more than 2 years. Better than an extra $50 in my book.
