I just ignore the low ballers. I tell them no thanks and make it clear that I'm in no hurry to sell, so they can't pull that "cash in hand, ready to buy" stuff. I've sold all my parts at very reasonable prices and even hang on to parts for weeks for friends, so I haven't had many problems.

I do get what you mean though, OP. Bargaining a couple bucks here and there is fine and expected, but asking for like 50% off the asking price is just insulting.

The prices i see in the F/S are

"Hi guys im selling my k&n filter ive had for 4 years. Selling it for $40 + shipping + paypal fees that'd put u up to about $60 even tho its $50 brand new" Everyone wants to get what they paid for 5 years ago its ridiculous

yep.

Usually I sell stuff for about half what it is new. Some things I've sold for factions of what it was new (completely depends what it is - I've sold some pretty obscure things, but also completely common things).

But I agree with you - if you want the item sold, price it reasonably... you can tell the ones that aren't hungry to sell, because they price high and wait for months (and complain about low ball in the mean time).

Bottom line - unless someone is offering less than half of what it was new, it's not a low ball offer... if you are selling for more than 20% less than new, your price is way too high.

Several ways to look at things, yes low ballers chap my azz but I have also noticed a trend lately of people asking ridiculous prices for things it used to be 50% of new cost was a rule of thumb depending on if the part was a wear item or not. Of course rare or hard to get items are another story but recently I was looking at an item that was best offer, I hate best offer so I PMed what are you looking for...his price was damn near new cost it actually was new cost but he had some options that would cost more but I didn't really want the extras. I never did make an offer because my offer would have been offensive compared to what he wanted : I have no issues paying fair price and selling for fair price but those days seem to be gone

For what it is worth I noticed many of the 370z are either cheap or new to modifying cars maybe both.

It's the internet, what do you expect? Everyone is looking for a good deal, so it's hard to blame them for pursuing one. I see plenty of people selling things purposely marked higher than it's worth expecting to make a deal with someone more towards the expected price.

And in the end, who cares again? Why let something so insignificant as a low ball even bother you in the slightest? Just chuckle and look at the next offer.
