G's and trees don't mix

After selling my 2001 Eclipse and driving my mom's 2010 Corolla for a good month or so while searching for a "good" G with no success, I came across the perfect one. A 2003 IP coupe with 80k miles on it for $12,400 which I scooped up as fast as I could. This is what she looked like.

What a shock it was going from a 145hp turd to a 280hp G35! It was still snowy and all in KC, so I had been driving it very carefully. One night after a long shift at work I was a mile from my house and I hit a patch of black ice in an otherwise totally dry road going around 55 mph, and hopped a curb and collided with two different trees.

I don't remember anything leading up to the accident. I had not been wearing a seatbelt, and I regained consciousness and fell out of the car into the snow. I went to the hospital and besides a few cuts and bruises, and a nasty concussion, I was alright. These are pictures from the crash site:

This is what it looked like at the towing companies lot a few days later:

After it was all said and done, insurance gave me $1,900 more than what I paid for the coupe, and me and my family decided that with the winters we have here, something AWD would be a wise decision. Up until that point the G sedan didn't even cross my mind, but lo and behold a month later, I purchased a stock Obsidian Black 2004 G35x with 78k on it.

This car is perfect inside and out, and was obviously meticulously cared for by the people I bought it from. After some new wheels I took the picture below. Mods not in the picture are some 05 skirts, and a blacked out grill.

glad you made it out ok, but not wearing a seatbelt is a bad idea no matter who safe you drive or how safe the car is.

good call on the G35x
