Why does the G35 Coupe have 280hp and the sedan has 260?
I'm in the market for a coupe, but don't want the 20hp difference. What is done to the coupe that's different from the sedan for the extra 20hp. Is there something all u Sedan guys do as soon as you buy the car to equal the playing field with the coupes? If so, what is it?

You need to do a little more reading and see how the HP varies from model year to model year.
It's generally agreed (and performance numebrs bear it out) that the 260 rating back in the day was probably understated.
Sedans, stock for stock, are usually a tick (and I do mean a tick) faster than the coupe - there is a miniscule weight difference with the coupe being heavier. It's not anything to worry about in the day to day as a race would come down to the driver.
My 05 sedan is rated 280/280.

The 50 pounds the coupe has makes very little to no difference. It's roughly a half of a tank of gas.
The power ratings have very little truth as well. The early sedans (before 03.5) had a different ecu, but the tunes were similar.
The 260hp rating could only possibly be used for the autos, as they dyno 10-12whp lower than manuals. How ever every vq35de non revup produces around 280 crank hp.

Technically it's 280/270, but who's counting?
And that one is 298/260, technically.
But they're all pretty much the same when you're driving, even the supposedly 260/260 early versions. The Coupe 6MT Rev-Up has more HP, but the Sedan is a tad lighter, has a teensy bit less drag, and giant fart's worth of extra torque. You won't be able to tell the difference.

I haven't lost yet to another bolt on G35 or 350z yet,. My Rev-Up sedan made 274 whp(12.5 A/Fs up top) just recently with just intake, exhaust, test pipes, smoothed lower, and spacer. I've seen similar modded non rev ups make 240-250 wheel with the same mods, so there is some additional power made in the later models.

No sir. They offered many forms of VQ35DE(engine codes for our cars), the Rev Up motor has variable cam timing on both exhaust and intake where as in the non Rev Up is only on the intake side. It also has a higher rev limiter at 7K+ RPM. It's also rumored that they have stronger internals, however I'm not sure if that's been proven one way or the other.
