Some people like a gloss finish, some people like a matte finish. Honestly, plastidip is a simple way to get a matte finish. Plastidip can be done right, it just takes a little bit of prep work and applying it right. It's really not a bad choice if you're going for a smaller section of matte black. Paint is gonna be better if you want a glossy finish. It's all personal preference. Calling one right over the other is pointless, and rice is more of how it's done in my opinion (that's not to say some things aren't just a bad idea).

I used Plastidip over the duct tape on my tractor seat, and it looks great!

Oh, you guys want pics, don't you?

I plastidipped the emblems on my Lexus.

Does this make the GS350 the new Camry?

To the person who said PlastiDip and powdercoating looked the same. Bahahahahahahaha.

If I didn't know any better, I would look at Plastidipped wheeels and ask the owner why they wrapped their wheel in grey 200 grit sandpaper.

The surface texture just sucks on it.

True, but there are a million other things that were used for more than their intended purpose... Looks at WD40, it was developed as a rust preventative. But my god it takes bug guts off my Bike so easy... And grease off my chain, and sticky adhesive off paint.
