Btw, get your credit fixed! It's important in so many ways, not the least of it...

$20k for 66 months at 11.2% = $409 per month, total of $26,878 outlay.

$20k for 66 months at 3.5% = $337 per month, total of $22,015 outlay.

$4,800 difference. Rims!!!!!

PM if you have any more questions.

Also, kudos to you for asking this stuff. Too many people don't and get in further trouble.

From the looks of it, they're trying to get that '07 gone asap because this is the last year they can officially sell it as a certified pre-owned Infiniti (I'm assuming they're selling it as a CPO since that would allow them to extend the warranty).

You would end up paying $26,994 ($409 x 66) for an '07 worth $24,7xx. This comes with 2 free major services ($500 each depending on the dealer - cheaper elsewhere but for simplicity's sake, I'm calculating at dealer cost) bringing the value to $25,7xx. This means you're paying ~$1,294 extra over 66 months ($19.61 a month).

Based on the KBB value you posted of the '07, this would be an okay deal to begin with. However, based on what you owe on your current car versus how much it's worth, I think this is a great deal. They're basically picking up the slack from the bad deal you got on your '05.

If you can even negotiate the new monthly down to $399 (start off lower, try to get it to $380 or $390), I'd definitely say pull the trigger. But even as-is, it looks like a great deal based on the information you've given.

We really need a sticky section for financial information like this.

Who cares about saving $500 on an exhaust when you can save thousands on the car itself.

Will fire some PM's to the admins.

OP< I put a thread in the G-spot that contains the tools I used here.

If you have any questions, let me know, but it should help you get comfortable with talking to the dealer again.

I agree with the previous post. The 2007 is a better deal, but it is also more money for you. Only you know your situation, so think long and hard. Just be careful.

Any time a salesman calls me and says they have a deal for me the red flags go up. You can never consider a saleman your friend, they're just doing their job....making $$. You need to find out what they're going to give you for your car and the asking price for the new one and negoiate from there. For just $200 a month we can get you into a new car....doesn't get it!

+1 to Gary and jstudrawa. They'll try to pull you in with "I've got a great deal for you - act fast!!!" Some of those deals will be good, some of them will be terrible. Just make sure you take some time, double and triple check the numbers, and do what's best for you.
