Tinting tail lights? tint film or paint? need help!!

I'd go with the vinyl. If you ever get pulled over for tinting them (especially if you're from California), it'd be so much easier to remove them.

The VHT is too dark for me. I have a painter friend that has been tinting peoples taillights for years. He sprays them with a tinted clear that he makes. His turn out much better than the VHT ones I've seen. Seen others try to copy him and fail though .

That's basically all VHT is, is a tinted clear coat. I mean VHT is intended for DIY and professionally done so anything actually painted will always look better. My lights in the previous post is the result of 3 coats of VHT, 2 coats of clearcoat and polished.

Which I wasn't going for any professional look, I wanted to do it myself and I'm happy with what I ended up with.
