Car sponsors
Car sponsors
I keep seeing adds for websites like carsponsors.com and others on tv. They talk about free parts for your car in return for some sort of advertisement. I was wondering if anybody on here has had any experience with these websites. Has anyone gotten anything good? They seem a little sketchy and "too good to be true". Thanks
if you want sponsors you either need to buy a newer plaftorm that the aftermarket hasn't already developed, or keep your G35 and poor so much money into it that it actually benefits a company to have their products on your car.

Carsponsorships.com or whatever is a rip off.
Here's a trick. Go to there website, fill it out, when it gets to credit card info just skip it and click submit. It'll say you need to fill out to proceed and then just click back to the home screen.
They will call you in a few weeks and ask to pay the $80 or whatever it is. At that point you have a real person on the phone and can grill them.
You'll soon find out it's a sham and for you to get anything worth **** on your car other than stickers and neon lights you need to do a lot of traveling and paying for shows which outweigh the **** they send you.
Even if you do jump through the hoops and take it seriously you will not get any part that looks any different than any G35 on this forum.
Srsly. Go to a serious car show and look for any car with "carsponsors" or "carsponsorship" stickers on them -- sure -- you'll see THEIR booth with a car or two... but I'm talking about among the other cars there.

Lets take a look at the cars on their site....

OMFG! SO SICK BROZ!!

You kidding me right now, son? A ****ing sticker! OMG CARSPONSORS ROCK!

Holy hell?! The most talked about civic in marysville! This is so ****ing win! Population 10,000!!

"This Is the greatest dream any car enthusiasts would enjoy still working on my 1989 toyoda supra wish me luck and import face off should be great before now i didnt know what i was gonna do about my car thanks car sponsorships for giving me hope."

"I just uploaded a pictures of the installed decal from the $25.00 decalkit.com deal my first purchase from cs it was pretty easy to install and looks great! Thanks cs and decalkits.com i am one more step closer to getting ready for shows this spring."

"WOW!!!! what can i say my best investment ever has been with carsponsors.com at first i thought there was no way i could get my civic to look anything like the cars i seen on there web page, but now 3 yrs later i'm riding with the big boys through the rtf program i have gotting what i need to make my tunner one of if not the hottest, and most talked about civic in marysville, there was no way i would have done it alone, new body kit new lights and lambo door hinges and tons of parts that if i would have had to pay for, with 4 kids it would have just been a dream...but now my wildest dream has almost come completely come true, all that is left is air susspention and turbo then my full dream has come to reallity. thank you CS and all of the othe sponsors that i have through CS...lots of pics to come so keep your eyes open on my profile becouse when i finish puttig it all together by the end of March 2011,every-one that ever dramed of modifying a 92 honda civic si hatch back will see how it's done.."
To actually get your car sponsored, you would have to have a massive amount done to the car already and prove that you're entering (and paying for) multiple shows each month. At the end of the day, the discount they give you on parts or whatever isn't going to really justify the enormous amount you're already dumping into the whole situation. I guess anything is better than nothing....but it's not nearly as simple as slapping a sticker on your car and getting free stuff.

lol i signed up for them when i was 16 not knowing anything about cars in general and they took all the signup money. They are bogus i bitched my way up to mgt and got my money back.
There's actually a similar thread right now on My350Z. In short, I would pass on sites like carsponsors.com. Local shops might give you a hookup though if you are representing their shop. I'd say that's your best bet.
Thanks for the responses. I knew it wouldnt be as easy as advertised. I was just wondering if anyone had actually gotten anything good. I love my car but I just dont have the money to do all the stuff I want (who does) It seems pretty obvious that this is just a waste of time/scam so Ill make sure I stay away. Thanks again.
That's not to say that some companies might not hook you up from time to time. I wouldn't expect a free ride though.
If you help with product testing/development, a lot of places will give you a deep cut.
