Switching gas

Hi

Kinda of a dumb question but just checking, im getting my G in couple of days it has 34,000 miles and the guy told me he put regular into since he got it and i wanted to switch over to super. Any steps i should follow or just drive till empty then fill with super.

^+1 to drive it all out. Make the light go on then fill it up w/ 91. What brand you going to put in?

Just start filling up with premium, you'll be fine. I would check the spark plugs tho, could have been detonating and burned them up pretty bad

And do an ECU reset- I imagine it would like all recollection of running sludge out of its system as well!

Enjoy your new ride, she's gonna thank you!

There's no reason to run the tank down to empty just fill her up with premium. After a tank or two I would reset the ECU or remove the negative side of your battery for 30 minutes. What a shame over 30K miles on cheap low octane gas, this is like finding an animal that's been mistreated....

u know removing the battery terminal does not actually reset the ecu? I always thought it did but after talking to more people it apprently does not reset it. you have to actually do the pedal reset.

Seriously? Is that why when you install intakes, spacers and exhaust systems the manufactures recommend you remove the negative side of the battery while doing the install? Motordyne....Stillen....Fujita....HKS....Magnflow and a few I've forgotten....
