Is a G35 sedan right for me?

I have been looking at a ton of cars.. Audis.. BMW.. even Mazdaspeed 3...

they all have issues.. audi not that reliable.. mazda kind of a low budget looking car..
which has led me to the G35...

I want a NICE car.. that is good quality...
bordering luxury...
has to perform at least a little.. I am really looking for a car that is 14.5 stock in 1/4 or better.. RWD or AWD...

I think a G does all this..

looking at a sedan.. price might put me in 06 but prefer 07 08...
considering auto but need to know how bad of a difference auto VS manual makes..

I have read a lot on this site but just looking for some direct feedback..

thanks..

Big diff inbetween the 06 and the newer 07,08s. HR motors in either 3.5 or 3.7 size and the 7sp auto vs the 5 sp auto.

I'd try to get the newer one if possible. A VQ37 HR with the 7sp auto should destroy a 14.5

A VQ3.5HR motor G did the 1/4 mile in 14.1

Automatic transmissions have improved greatly over the years. There is really no mileage or performance advantage to a manual any more. It is more of a personal preference.

is AWD better than RWD?

I just got out of a 5.0 Mustang.. with an Auto trans.. an older foxbody.. it sounds like an 07/08 G should be on par with it stock VS stock low 14s.. rwd.. etc...

It's not that hard to beat a stock fox bodied 5.0 Mustang.

i'd get the RWD especially if you plan to mod it...there are certain things you can't do with the X's...but then again this is all personal preference, maybe you need 4wd for weather conditions

I do not NEED AWD.. but I also have no plans to mod the car at the moment besides a modest drop and some rims.. but you never know.. I can't believe I missed this car in my initial search of "nice" cars..

If you don't need AWD don't get one. They're heavier, have a more limited mod platform as mentioned above, and require more maintenance.

Don't go with AWD

also everyone says that they have no plans to mod the car much , but give it a bit and it'll all change from there

My last two cars were heavily modified.. I had a Honda civic from when I was younger.. roll cage.. motor swap.. nitrous.. and so on.. drove it for ten years.. then just had a pretty ridiculous Mustang.. not daily driver friendly..

I plan to modify the Infinity I know I will just knowing me... but I want to retain the enjoyable experience of getting in every day to nice luxury type car...

I still can not get over the Auto being a good choice... I really hope it is because that will make daily driving WAY more tolerable..

leaning towards RWD at this point...

the auto is a shiftable automatic?
do all 07/08 cars come with navigation?

thanks for all your help with me being such a noob.. lol

Sounds like a G could suit your needs fairly well. It's a nice car overall.

Definitely go with the RWD.
