Preparing for deployment

Hey all,

About to deploy overseas and wondering how to prepare my car to sit for a while. I have someone to start it up, but that's about it.

Anything I should do?

Stabil in the gas tank, fresh oil change. Depending on how long you'll be gone the tires might flat spot. Not much you can do about that though except put the car on jack stands.

Put it on a battery tender if you want it to start when you get back.
Be safe.

Leave her on jackstands just so the tires aren't touching the ground, fresh oil and Stabil in the gas tank like the other members posted. So she's safe keep her in a locked garage, covered and hooked up to a battery tender....Gary

Since you have someone to start it up, just have them drive it a few miles as well. Once in a couple of weeks should suffice.

Since you've gotten good advice for the car I will say this. Keep your head up out there, shoot straight and get home safely. Thank you for your service to our country.

Good luck. I may see you out here. I'm still deployed. And I've been out here a long time. 3 years and going in the sandbox.

Put a car cover on it even if it's indoor. And make sure someone you trust ,has a extra key to your car.

When a vehicle doesn't move for a long time, the tire will start to settle from the weight, which causes a flat spot on the part of the tire thats on the ground.
