did your chain pop off and throw your rods or something? I'm sorry to hear about your situation my dude. I just am not totally understanding what you are saying? One of the big advantages of our cars is not having a timing belt,its a chain, so the belt wont snap and throw rods,etc etc. I have never heard of "upkeep" on a tensioner,unless you haven't followed the G service stature . on a netter note. i would be interested in some parts if u wanna make a few quick bucks :-) pm me on either topics,i will try me best to help.im good at problem solving,and i have a ton of outlets for parts

 

Pro-rate the tires, what i always do if they dont last long, even if my car hasnt been aligned.
