Question New member, few questions

Hey all, just joined the site. Been wanting a G35 coupe for a while and have started looking into a few. Always have had muscle cars and rebuilt 2 , figured it was time try something new!

There is currently a 03 for sale in my city here for$ 6900 that im pretty interested in.
Only issue is quite high mileage 309k haha. Apparently was just used to go between cities in Alberta. Now i know thatsba pretty risky area but just wondering if anyone has any input or advice there? ie what sorta things may need replacement or servicing most likely.

Also if anyone knows roughy what a engine rebuild runs on the engine?

Thanks fellas

Also its a auto trans, would prefer a 6 sp manual but they seem to pretty much double in price around here

Hey Covert. I'm from Calgary too. Got a link? That is super-high mileage of course, I think for not much more you could get one with half that. But if you're going to rebuild/restore it, by all means, deal hard and get it for even less!

You can get rebuild kits from places like Z1 if you want to do your own:

http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=3546

Or get a shortblock all ready to go:

The LS1 swap is a great idea, too.

A link?

And no restoring, just some mods as i get a lil extra scratch ect ect. Blew way to much on the last car to go hard again. Lol.

Yea i figured as much. I would really rather have a 6mt / brembos and Nav, probably wait till mid winter to hopefully find a cheap coupe in better shape. Any regular issues with the Gs to watch for ?

if you can rebuild engines....definately swap the LS1 and you should be able to fly to the sky and never look back.
