10 + 10 = 22???

Nah! On December 10th I have owned my 2003 G35 Coupe for 10 years. Went to the dealer immediately upon learning that they had the Coupe available. I had wanted a Datsun 240 Z since they came out in 1970 but, at the time I was driving a Triumph TR6 and was a crew member on a SCCA Triumph racing team.....so owning a Datsun was out of the question. When the 350Z returned in 2003 I thought...finally I can own a Z. But after reading every review available I determined that the Z car in a tuxedo (G35 Coupe) was a better fit. The 22??? 22,000 that's the mileage I currently have on the Coupe. It was a retirement present to myself (retired at 55). The G was a pleasure to own and drive in 2002 and remains so today. Still has that new car smell.

Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary! I've been retired for 9 years and have owned a '72 BRE Datsun 510 where we shared the track at Riverside. Noticed all those Z pilots smiling from ear to ear so I bought a '76 280Z and figured out why. Thru the 80s with either a Trans Am or Vette got back into what I loved with a '92 Pearl Cherry 300ZXTT which I drove for 12 years. I met SLICK (pictured above) in '04 and she's been garage partners with my wife's Vette ever since. We love our toys....Gary

There's something that a lot of the members of this forum don't realize. Once a car guy always a car guy. I got my Corvette fix in 1967 with a 1963 split window coupe. Bought the car from Don Yenko Chevrolet. His modified Camaro's of the 60's today bring hugh $$$. He was Cheverolet's answer to Carroll Shelby.Yenko was a national SCCA Corvette racing champion.

Car guy or not you do't see many old timers riding Civics and CRXs.

Yet this car has that ability to give joy of ownership to many generations.

Wow, don't see too many original owner stories on here. Congrats for finding a car you truly care for and feel connected to.

....and are you really trying to tell us that your 03 coupe you bought brand new 12/10/02 with 5 miles on it, only has 22k miles on it to this day (1/15/13)???? If so that is mind blowing. I remember working a job a few summers back where I had to drive 100-150 miles a day. At the time I had an 03 Evo, which was my daily driver. Within 4 months I put 14,000+ on the car. Yes 4 months, 14k+.....

Yep...honestly 22,354 I just went to the garage and checked. Two things...First, I'm retired (not SS) they just send the checks, Secondly...I own three other cars...from my sig you can see a 2010 Mercedes Benz E coupe and a 1990 Miata (71,000) miles just turned 23. Bought it in December of 1989. I also have a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo (the hauler). So you can see it's tuff just driving all these vehicles to keep them running. The exception is the Mercedes. Bought it in May of 2010 and it's got 22,539 miles on it. It's the wifes DD. I retired at 55 so I can still enjoy these vehicles.
