I miss my G...

My G is at Lokey Infiniti right now getting all the engine sensors replaced and also have the dash replaced. I've had the 37 Sedan loaner for about a week, and I deeply miss my coupe. The sensors are costing me $650 + Tax to replace, which I think (and from what I read) is a bit steep, but I am having the full dash replaced for only $200, so I did well on that. It all balances out I guess.

I just wish my dash would get in so I can get my car back!!!

Yea but I read the aftermarket ones don't work all that well, so I figured I'd just go get raped on that to get the deal on the dash.

I used an OEM one bought from Nissan, the aftermarket ones were $40-50 at the parts store around the corner from his house. I've just learned that 99% of the aftermarket and "OE" parts won't last more than a few hundred miles on these cars, so the few bucks you save now will cost you in the end.

The way I see it, if I do the work myself, then I'm still saving money when you consider the price of the OEM part is usually cheaper than an aftermarket one installed by someone else.

How much of the dash is being replaced?

That's the deal I had with Infiniti. A $200 deductible for replacing the dash, as long as I got boned on the sensors. I picked up the car last night and the dash looks great, and the car is working.

HOWEVER... my rear view camera is not working now, and neither is my alarm or remote start. I called Infiniti this morning and the service rep says, "We don't know what we're doing, just take it to your installer and we will reimburse them." <--Literally what he said, no exaggeration.

I couldn't believe what my ears heard...
