having 2nd thoughts on a aluminum under tray....

I have been thinking about getting 1 for awhile here now but after witnesses a g.s. bottoming out a customers 03 g35 sedan after I spent a 5 hours doing his brembo install, when he bottomed out he bent the aluminum tray and the screws for the oil drain flap puncher the oil pan. I still planning on get 1 but I am going to either rivet the oil flap or weld it in place, so mine doesn't have the same thing happen.

i ve had 2 now for a total of about 4 years.

the screws aren't that long and you would have to hit something really protruding from the ground or a huge rock

Yeah, plus, let's not get people worried over a freak accident. This is obviously an isolated circumstance considering it's happened once in all these years.

More than a few members here on Driver have aluminum undertrays, this is the first negative comment I've heard! Is it possible this happened on a sedan that was slammed or to dangerously low to be driven on the street? I would order one but the that makes them won't give me a price on one polished in the inside...Gary

if you're slammed you're gonna eff up the undertray to oblivion regardless of whether it is plastic or metal...
