OMG, Becky's not even hot! or tales of my car in the parking lot.
So, my wife had my G35 today, so I could get some estimates on some (relatively) minor damage on her rear quarter panel from a guy at our apartment complex. Got the estimates done, about $600-700.
I get home and get pictures of this: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...d4ca6ac4d9.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...363df5e5b5.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...0ac62b0ffd.jpg Basically, this: Got the police report and all that, so somebody else is footing the bill, but FML. |
That's terrible hope the student learned a lesson to put down the phone.

wife's are terrible.
3 out of 4 accents that happened to my G were all when my wife drove it. 4th was a guy backing into me at a traffic light. He missed an exit for a strip club on valentines day (that was his excuse) Yours is a piece of cake though, it'll buff out. |

Hopefully the students parents will find out.

Ahh, that sucks. Luckily the dent is on the bumper not the quarter panel. Teens and phones, man. They're already at a disadvantage with their inexperience. At least she didn't try to take off.

No fault of my wife, just happened to be the one who parked it where the teen hit it.

I just got back from removing the trim panels from inside the trunk. Not good. The floor pan has been crumpled up in that corner: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...aab811c64c.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...9e19743834.jpg |
This sucks! Sorry to hear about your bad luck w your cars. I'm glad nobody was hurt.
|
Sorry man, that sucks. $600-700 seems like a low estimate to me. I'm no body repair man but would expect it to be double that amount with the damage on your quarter panel, bumper, wheel & trunk floor.
Good luck, I'm sure she will be as good as new in no time. |

If the insurance company decides to pay for a new rim, that might be $2K just for the rim.
I remember waaaaaay back when these cars were newish, that a guy got his 19's stolen and filed a claim and got a $6-7K check from the insurance company. However, not being an OEM rim, not sure how they would handle this, nor would i want to add a $2K rim into the estimate and possibly bring the damage estimate into the range of the INS company wanting to total the car. |
