Best mods?

So im buying a g35x in a couple weeks, and planning on modding it. Im not a huge car guy, and havent done any mods to a car before. I know I want to do an exhaust, and probably a cold air intake, or something similar. Im not necessarily looking to increase the hp because im not planning on racing it, but i want to make it look and sound good. Any suggestions on what to get or anything else to do to the car would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Best mods?

There are threads on lowering an AWD you will want to read carefully. It's different from a coupe or RWD sedan. Choose your intake carefully. The stock setup is pretty optimal; some intake mods will actually cost you HP. A Z-tube will give you more growl to go with your exhaust note, but it's hard to beat the stock air box. Beware of heat soak.

Fixed

For exhaust portion. If you want moar noize. You can go full catback + HFC/tests. Or just catback if you dont want anything over the top.

A tune will be needed though if you go the HFC/test + catback route doe

Cat back makes almost no gains for bunch of money, it is really only worth getting for sound. Plus then will need to get tune. OP can save 1.5-2k by skipping exhaust and tune.

Would/could you drive a lowered car in Minnesota all year?

Best mods are always the ones that put a smile on your face every time you approach or sit behind the wheel of your car and turn the key...fact! When you have the car get back to us so we have the right information...Gary

Not a fan of lowering unless you only plan on driving on smooth roads and no speed bumps.

Mrev2 + spacer are the best bang for the buck.

We can't give him accurate answers until we know what he's driving! Mrev2 is only worthwhile for those members driving '06/'07 coupes or sedans with MTs. He can't lower is car unless he wants to create a snow plow or park it in the winter!

Intake, exhaust, tint, high flo cats, mild drop, 20's all around (staggered setup), plenum spacer, a tune, stereo upgrade. All this should get you on your way.
