Temp gauge spiking!!!! Please help!!!

Good afternoon all,

I was hoping some of you could help me out! This is for a 2007 Infiniti g35x saloon.

This past weekend i got a little on the throttle and then noticed my temp gauge going up and down. It goes up pretty fast but then when i go on the highway it neautralizes. The coolant looks fine and the car is operating perfect.

I'm going to bleed the coolant in a couple of weeks unless anybody tells me that it will overheat in the mean time.

I was hoping someone could tell me if it was going to overheat, if so i'll bleed it right away. Or, if my temp gauge sensor is dead how much does that cost and what is the replacement procedure? Anybody know of any tutorial videos?

Yes, the same coolant goes in the reservoir as in the radiator. See if bleeding the system works before buying a replacement temp sensor.

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the FSM?
